Financial Peace Junior

You must be living under a rock if you have not heard of Financial Peace or Dave Ramsey.  The classes are popping up at churches all over America and people are getting serous about getting rid of debt.  “Live like no one else so you can live like no one else'” is the quote I love to borrow when describing the program.  Ramsey goes hard and requires you to do things with your finances that people just are not doing these days like PAY CASH!  But the promise is if you do, you will be living a financially free life while your fellow Americans continue drowning in credit cards.  I LOVE the idea but couldn’t get motivated enough to take the class (although it is on my TO DO list), so I took it to God in prayer.  The answer I got was………….baby steps.  BABY STEPS???????????????  I took that to mean take the class when I was ready until I looked at the FP website and saw they offer a program Financial Peace Junior for children ages 3-12.  God was using the amount of time I spend with my children and their ability to REALLY hold mommy accountable against me!  So not only are we going to do Financial Peace together, we are going to make it apart of our schoolwork so we don’t slack off.  I will keep you posted on how it goes but I am excited and so are the kids.  For more information go to http://kids.daveramsey.com/  Financial Peace Junior is offered for an excellent price of $19.99.  Extra kits are ann additional $10 and extra banks are $9.95.

Your job as a parent is not just to keep your child happy. You’re raising a future grown-up who needs to be able to deal with grown-up matters. Teach your children how to handle money while they are young, and they won’t make costly mistakes later in life. It’s never too late to start!
