Do you listen to other moms talk about their schedule and get a tiny bit discouraged? We are all busy moms with a full to do list but comparing schedules can hurt more than help if we are not careful. Often we already have too many places to be and not enough time or energy to get it all done, yet we squeeze more in to keep everyone happy. Trying to figure out which things are distractions and which really matter can be difficult, but as kingdom moms we must put first things first. Keep our focus on God. He is our highest priority and we need a daily devotion time in the morning. Now I know getting up early may not be a popular idea especially since early means BEFORE the kids but Matthew 6:33 say, “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” Think of it as a staff meeting with the boss where He gives you the day’s agenda. Our heavenly Father is telling us to make time for Him so He can give us what we need to make it through the day! Does that mean the kids won’t spill juice all over the table? Does that mean your tweenager won’t give you attitude today? Does that mean your husband won’t have to work late? NO!!!! All those things may still happen but I can promise you will respond to them differently since you are filled with fresh Holy Spirit. He will rearrange our calendar and even scratch some things off but we can leave the meeting feeling refreshed and encouraged that His plan is better anyway. Giving up our plan doesn’t come easy so keep praying throughout the day and don’t support any activity that distances you from God’s path or from your most important priorities.
Commit your activites to the Lord and your plans will be achieved – Proverbs 16:3 HCBS
